Spending time trying to be what we think other people want us to be is a recipe for disaster.
We want to feel trusted. We want to be honest. We want to be real.
The people we feel embody those qualities, the people who seem awesome or passionate often come off that way because they’re being authentically them. They’re cool and fun to be around — and they also make mistakes. They have flaws, and we still accept them.
Yet for some reason, we feel a need to hide, and that we won’t be accepted. This is something that I have, and continually do struggle with. But I intentionally make a choice to live as only I can. And you know what? Everything is fine, and I don’t have to try to be anything. I just am.
I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but it’s true. Just be you, because everyone else is taken.
Also you’re awesome and don’t need to be anyone else.
