TPM 056 : Creating Unreal Results, with Jay Clouse
This week we’re chatting with Entrepreneur, speaker, and founder of the Unreal Collective, Jay Clouse. I loved Jay’s story because he’s very relatable. Sometimes, when someone tells you to “pursue your passion” or to “just go for it”, you get the feeling that you’re supposed to have all the answers, to know what to do and then make things happen. Most often though, that isn’t the case. We need to try different things and discover what it is that we really want to apply ourselves to.
Jay’s path is a lot like that. He’s worked with and built up many different startups and found ways to add to his experience until he found his niche. He’s a great example of trying things, regardless if you believe you can, or if feel like you need permission first. Just take action. See where the experience might lead you.
I loved his emphasis on self-awareness. It’s too easy to get caught up in details like numbers, performance metrics, sales goals etc… but I can’t stress enough the importance of truly knowing yourself when you embark on a venture.
If you know yourself and what you want, it makes the path so much clearer, and allows you to create a plan to achieve your goals, so you can accurately measure those metrics that we love to pour over so often 😉
